After losing out on a chance to win the conference title in last week’s home defeat against Bluffton, the Heritage Patriots salvaged third place with a contentious 64-63 victory at Jay County.
The win was the third straight win for Heritage over their Jay County rivals, with all three wins coming by a single possession.
Landon Lybarger led the Heritage Patriots in scoring with 19 points, knocking down a pair of threes and a couple of free throws in the third quarter in the winning effort.
Lantae Cassel had 15 points and was 4 of 8 from the line in the second half.

Heritage was just 9 of 18 in the second half at the free throw line, but still found a route to victory.
Coach Kyle Sovine picked up his 20th career victory and has three tough non-conference tests remaining in the last two weeks of the season before sectional time. The final home game of the year will be Tuesday against North Side (9-11) and the team will end their regular season slate with two road games: at New Haven (11-9) and at DeKalb (7-12).
