BLOOD ROUND
132-Warren Brown (Merrillville) d. Gabe Myers, 6-5
-Myers missed out on the second day after a questionable call near the end of the third period. The Bellmont freshman had just scored a takedown at the shoestrings to take a 5-4 lead at the edge of the mat, directly in front of his dad and brother in the chair (see photos below).

After being awarded the takedown, Myers wanted to let as much time tick away as possible, but the official caught a glimpse of Myersā arms touching around the lower legs of his opponent, who was completely out of bounds, and called locked hands.
With the score now 5-5, Myers looked to his recent takedown and decided to cut his man and score another to secure the victory. He was unable to find three more points in a takedown and dropped out of the tournament.
138-Henry Faurote t.f. Christopher Firebaugh (Plymouth), 15-0

-Henry made it to the second day with a dominating win in the blood round, rolling the funky Firebaugh over multiple times for tilt after tilt.
Minutes after Faurote made it three winners for Bellmont in the blood round, the fire alarm went off and everyone had to vacate the building.
175-Gavin Davis will not wrestle in the final round and will forfeit out of the tournament.
190-Xavior Palacios p. Bryce Montgomery (Merrillville), 2:22
-X bounces back from his tough quarterfinal overtime lost to be the first Brave to reach the second day.
285-Grady Baker d. Jacob Reynolds (Garrett), 6-0
-Bakerās day was perfect on the mat despite feeling horrible throughout the day with illness and one big throw in the quarters. He can wrestle all the way back to third place tomorrow.
Consolation Round 3 Results
132-Gabe Myers p. Ayden Campbell (Portage, 1:52)

-Myers is one match away from placing after beating Campbell by fall in the second period.

175-Denny Allgood (Bloomington South) p. Landon Rich, 2:15
Round 3 (Championship Bracket Quarterfinals) Results
138-Marcus Malone (Center Grove) d. Henry Faurote, 8-3
Faurote scored the opening points with a first-period takedown, but Malone, who had already knocked off one seed this afternoon, came storming back and took the match. Faurote chased him for the last minute, needing to find a takedown to re-gain the lead, but it was Malone who scored the final points of the bout on a desperation shot by Faurote.

Henry will now have one match left to win to make it to the second day.
165-William Vander Luitgaren (Center Grove) d. Gavin Davis, 9-6
Davis scored two quick takedowns in the opening 30 seconds and led 6-1, but the state qualifier from Center Grove came back and Davis seemed to lose steam quickly as Vander Luitgaren rode him for most of the final two periods.

Davis will need to win one more match to qualify for the second day.
190-Colin McMahon (Columbus East) d. Xavior Palacios, 5-2, OT
Palacios and McMahon were scoreless heading into the final period, where they traded reversals to send the match to overtime. McMahon out-scrambled Palacios to a takedown to win the bout.
285-Kameron Kaufmann (Warsaw) p. Grady Baker, :52
-Kaufmann used a big throw to toss Baker to his back and knock him out of the championship bracket in the first period.
Consolation Round 2 Results
106-Tyler Quarles (Lowell) p. Jacob Binegar, 1:36

113-Blake Doeing (Hobart) m.d. Jacob Bleeke, 9-1

120-Luke Neid (Lake Central) d. Ben Mills, 5-2
132-Gabe Myers d. Aden Hartman (Jimtown), 11-5

Round 2 (Championship Bracket) Results
113-Brody Blevins (Mishawaka) p. Jacob Bleeke, :44
138-Henry Faurote d. Kamrin Hilson (Merrillville), 12-6

-Hilson was in deep on a shot early in the match, but Faurote scrambled and came out on top. Later in the match, Hilson finished the same shot and scored, but Faurote’s lead was too great. A late stalling call took the major decision away from Faurote. He will wrestle Center Grove’s Marcus Malone next after Malone upset the #5 seed, Kochendorfer of Garrett.
165-Gavin Davis t.f. Bradley Rivera (Lowell), 17-0

-Davis needed just 75 seconds to score 17 points on Rivera. Gavin will need one more win to advance to the second day. He will have to beat #4 seed William Vander Luitg of Center Grove, a state qualifier from last year, for a spot in the semifinals.
190-Xavior Palacios p. Lincoln Schneider (Lowell), 1:32
-Xavior kept his streak alive, scoring his 24th fall of the season and moving to the quarterfinals at 24-0. He will wrestle unbeaten Colin McMahon of Columbus East next.
285-Grady Baker d. Jacari Markey (Warren Central), 2-1, UTB

-Baker, who is battling illness today, went through the first three periods even with Markey, with both men choosing down with their choice and getting escapes. Neither wrestler made much of a move in overtime and Baker deferred his choice in the first :30 overtime.

Despite a clock malfunction, Baker overcame a restart to hold Markey down for the first 30, then chose down and turned and faced his opponent for an escape. A late shot by Markey was a second too late and Baker survived. Next up for Grady will be Kameron Kauffman (14-1) of Warsaw.

Round 2 (Consolation Bracket) Results
106-Jacob Binegar won by forfeit
120-Ben Mills t.f. Gavin Drzewiecki (LaPorte), 19-1
-Mills wrestled Drzewiecki for the second time this season and kept his day going with a big win.
126-Brady Miller (Zionsville) p. Ethan Curtis, 2:06
Miller (4-12) eliminated Curtis from the tournament with a fall in the middle of the second period.
132-Gabe Myers p. Dallas Barnhart (Mt. Vernon), :31
144-Trevor Crump (SB Riley) d. Will Franze, 10-5
Franze was eliminated by Crump in a tough 10-5 decision.
157-Drew Ginter (Mishawaka) t.f. Austin Manley, 23-6
Manley faced two very good 157s and was eliminated from the tournament in straight matches.
175-Landon Rich t.f. Seth Parvin (Western), 16-0

Rich was all over Parvin, scoring with a cradle after winning the opening takedown, then scoring repeatedly with a tilt to win the tech fall.
215-Kayden Donovan (Elkhart) p. Ryne Fawbush
-Fawbush was eliminated from the tournament with the fall from Donovan (7-8).

113-Jacob Bleeke d. Nick Russell (Bloom. So.), 11-8

Bleeke built a big lead at 10-1 early in the bout, then fought off his back and held on to a couple of shots to save stalemates to get out of tough situtations and find a way to win his opening match. Next up will be #3 seed Brody Blevins of Mishawaka.

138-Henry Faurote t.f. Rey Santiago (Peru), 18-1

Faurote had no problems scoring once he secured the opening takedown against Santiago, using his tilt to rack up nearfall points. Up next – unseeded Kamron Hilson of Merrillville, who won by fall in the opening round.

190-Xavior Palacios p. Mason Henrich (Mishawaka), :55
