A form for the new Adams County Transit garage shows how large the structure will be when it is completed in the new few weeks.
It is situated on the northwest side of the MERIT Center property, near 12th St.

An old building was recently demolished by Luginbill Excavating to provide additional room for the garage. The other building, used by a charitable organization, will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
Martin Schwartz Construction has the contract for the concrete and foundation work. Framing will be done by Arnold’s and Amos Schwartz, then plumbing work by Liechty Brothers.
DH Electric has the contract for the electrical work, to be followed by HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) installation by Liechty Bros.
Mark Wynn is the manager for Adams County’s garage project.
Council on Aging Director Michelle Lengerich heads the transit system which has been in place for nearly a year.
