It was an 80-point performance for the Bellmont Braves Saturday night as they shot their way past the New Haven Bulldogs to remain at the very top of the NE8 standings.
The 80-37 victory at New Haven saw the visitors score a whopping 25 points in the opening quarter against the Dogs, without any scoring by Emily Bleke. The senior eventually led all scorers with a 20-point night. Freshman Ashley Bleke had ten of the Braves’ points in the first stanza.
A’lanah Webb led the Bulldogs with half of the team’s scoring with 19.

Mary Bleke and Lanie French each had nine points in the win for the Braves, who are now 3-0 in the NE8 and 12-1 overall. The team has moved up to #8 in the state in 3A, just behind Norwell at #7.
Coach Andy Heim’s team will pick the season back up with back-to-back games on January 3rd and 4th at Eastside and at home against Bluffton. After that weekend, the Braves will face their toughest stretch of the regular season with games against Norwell, Columbia City and Northrop.
