Brothers Oliver and Ben Goble combined to win three individual events and the brothers were on two winning relay teams Thursday night as Bellmont defeated Leo in the warm waters of the Mark Young Natatorium for a conference victory.
Sophomore Logan Whitacre also continued his monster of a year with another great diving performance, following it up with the anchor leg of the winning medley relay team.
Notes & Times:
-Whitacre once again upped his career best point total in the diving to start off the night, finishing with 220.05. He had just broken his own record Tuesday at Norwell with 206.6.
-Oliver Werling lowered his season best in the IM, beating his Leo opponent to the touch by just .07 seconds.
-Zayne Roop swam a season best and took second in the 50.
-Hudson Krull’s progression in the Fly continued as he won the event, lowering his career best by two seconds.
-Owen Garcia also had a career best in the butterfly.
-Ben Goble’s career best in the 100 Free was good enough for first place, beating out Maddex Weaver of Leo by 3.5 seconds.
-Samson Owens swam his season best to take second in the 500 behind teammate Oliver Goble.
-The 200 Free Relay team of Ben Goble, Roop, Whitacre and Krull swam the fastest time of any county team this year and the fastest time for Bellmont in at least three years, winning in 1:42.66.
-Oliver Werling cut a second from his season best, but finished second in the backstroke.
-Hudson Krull won the breast with a 1:08.83, 1.5 seconds than his previous season best.
