The South Side Archers jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter and never looked back Tuesday, stopping the Starfires’ momentum from two consecutive victories in the previous four days.
South Side scored 22 in the opening eight minutes to build a 22-8 lead and led 37-15 at halftime.

“We really got off to a horrible start tonight,” said Starfire coach Brett Freeman. “We quickly dug ourselves a big hole. Their constant pressure was difficult for us to handle.”
Bry’Lee Diederich-Williams knocked down four threes and tied for scoring honors with Maddie White with 19 points.

Ana Lehman led the Stars in scoring with ten. She was 4 from 6 at the free throw line.
Despite the loss, Freeman still feels like his young team showed great grit.

“I never saw a sense of ‘giving up’ from our girls,” he said. “After three games in basically three days, I know we had some tired bodies out there.”
The Starfires did not hit a three in the game.
The Archers moved to 3-8 on the year with the win.
