DANE FUELLING

Football season is over and it’s time to wrestle.
That was the message for the Adams Central Jets as they took the mat for the first time Tuesday night at Norwell. They responded with a 48-29 in preparation for the ACAC Duals this weekend despite having to forfeit a weight to the Knights.
The only senior on the team this year, Matt Heiser, did not feature in the match as the Jets opened the night by forfeiting at 190. Ethan Funk got the first takedown of the year and quickly moved for the fall to even things at 6-6.

Norwell’s big heavyweight, Carson Powell, was too much for Gavin Rumple to handle, but Ezra Liechty did not let his weight difference bother him at 106, bouncing back from conceding the opening takedown and going right at Norwell’s Eli Thomas. A takedown of his own at the end of the first and a reversal with nearfall in the second gave him a big lead and he finished off Thomas with a fall midway through the bout.
A series of mismatches followed in the lightweights as the Jets built a lead and they clinched the dual with a forfeit accepted by Dylan Ogg at 144.

Brason Schortgen and Mav Dubach each looked great in quick tech falls at their new weights, 150 and 157, respectively, and Xander Schwartz finished off the win with a 14-8 decision at 175.
