The Adams Central Flying Jets are headed back to the State Finals after beating Andrean on the road Friday night despite a late comeback by the 59ers that had the game resting on an onside kick.
The Jets were leading 20-3 with four minutes gone in the final quarter, but a touchdown by Andrean and a short field goal with under two minutes to play meant the home team might have a chance to tie up the game if they could recover the onside kick.
The special teams unit did its job, however, and Adams Central was able to take a knee to see out the victory.

The Jets built their lead with touchdowns in each of the first three quarters, while holding Andrean to just one long field goal, a 44-yard shot by the talented PJ Cusick.

The two teams were fairly even in terms of offense, but the Jets made just enough big plays on defense to build a lead.

Matt Heiser had 81 yards rushing on 19 carries, while Aaron Hirschy had the two scores and finished with 61 yards.

Jamison Roach ran for 56 yards and was 2 for 2 in passing for 25 yards.

Max Kaehr led the team with eight tackles.

The Jets will take on Linton-Stockton for the 2A State Title Friday in Indianapolis. Fans can hear that game on 92.7 FM, WZBD.
