Bellmont’s 2024 football season came to an end Friday night in front of the home crowd as the Braves fell to Jay County, 42-7.
The Braves allowed multiple touchdowns in each of the first three quarters and the game ended in the same way as the nine regular season games did – with a running clock.

The game did have a different look, however, as coach Hall and his staff went with a different set of starters for the game.

Daniel Selking played most of the game at quarterback. The freshman QB found success in the air, throwing 18 times and making eight completions for 92 yards and a 20-yard touchdown pass to classmate Cole Barger.

Easton Curtis came in for two series at quarterback and went 3 for 5 for 24 yards before being replaced by Selking.
The home team was led in rushing by Oliver Werling with 28 yards. Will Franze had 27. Bellmont had just 57 yards rushing overall.
Werling and Gavin Krull each had three catches to lead the receiving corps.

Bellmont committed two turnovers, fumbling once and Jay County picked off Selking for a pick-six to start the third quarter.
Werling and Grady Baker each had a tackle for loss. Isaiah Herman had a blocked extra point.
Oliver Werling also had a good night on kickoff returns, racking up 77 return yards on three returns.
