Second St. in downtown Decatur will be closed between Monroe and Madison streets for a couple of hours Sunday (time not yet determined) as the street mural gets a touch-up.
The mural is located across the street between Monster Pizza and Sherwin-Williams.

Community Coordinator Jamie Gephart got city council’s approval for the closure at council’s latest meeting.
Artist Adam Mathews will be refreshing the mural with the approval of Shelby Nower.
Nower did the original work – approximately 14 feet by 25 feet – in June of 2023, using some three and a half gallons of paint.
Gephart said the second coat of paint is expected to last longer than the first.
