It was a night of milestones and intrigue for volleyball in Z Land as Maci Henry reached a major milestone for her Adams Central career, the Bellmont Braves remained unbeaten in the NE8, and South Adams got some revenge on their biggest rival.
In Decatur, Bellmont swept past DeKalb with 21 kills on 38 attempts from MK Scheumann, pushing her season total to a whopping 455.
Alyssa Gumbel hit at an ever greater rate, scoring 13 times on 20 tries.
Katie Mills had 13 digs for a team-high total and also served two aces as the Braves went to 5-0 in the NE8. They will round out the regular season next week by taking on Huntington North for the final regular season games Tuesday and playing Columbia City Thursday.

Meanwhile, at the StarDome, after losing to Adams Central in two straight sets Saturday at the ACAC tournament, the South Adams Starfires stormed back and created a scenario that could lead to a three-way tie for the regular season conference title by beating the Jets in four sets.

South Adams cruised to victory in the opening set, but Adams Central clawed back into the match with a fine performance in the second set.

The Starfires bounced back, however, and won the next two sets to add an extra layer of intrigue to the rest of the regular season for themselves, Adams Central and for Jay County.

Reece Beitler and Avery Brown each had 11 kills and Reagan Bollenbacher led the Stars with 12 kills.
It is likely that South Adams and Adams Central will meet again in the upcoming sectional.
