Wayne took three of five matches from South Adams Monday and Jay County eked out a win over the Bellmont Braves to kick off the final week of the regular season in high school tennis around the area.
Meanwhile, at Adams Central, it was a clean sweep for the Bluffton Tigers over their ACAC rivals. The victory gave BHS its third consecutive ACAC title.
In just seven days the field will be set by the IHSAA for the postseason, with all the tennis teams in Z-Land set to play in the local Norwell sectional, beginning on October 1st.
Cole Hyman won a first-set tiebreak and maintained his undefeated record for the Starfires with a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles. The Stars also won the match at No. 1 doubles in three sets.
