
Coming into Saturday’s Monroe Central Invite with just one loss (against powerhouse Bellmont), the South Adams Starfires advanced to the championship match with two victories before falling to Heritage Christian in straight sets.
South Adams beat Blackford 25-12, 25-9 in the opener with five kills from Reagan Bollenbacher and Reece Beitler leading the way.
They advanced to the finals with a 25-14, 25-21 win over Hagerstown 25-14, 25-21, with Beitler leading the way again with five kills.
In the championship round, it was all Heritage Christian (25-12, 25-18). Beitler, Reagan Bollenbacher and Avery Brown each had a team-high three kills.
