The South Adams Starfires’ top two singles players retained their undefeated records Monday night against the Norwell Knights, but the team could not find a third point to beat their sectional rivals in a great high school tennis match.
Cole Hyman dropped the first set at No. 1 singles and looked like his perfect season might be in trouble, but he recovered to win the last two sets comfortably.

The top doubles team for the Starfires bounced back from a loss in the opening set to even things and force a third set, but Norwell claimed the doubles match and the team match with a 6-2 win in the final set.
The Starfires will look to bounce back with an important match against another potential sectional opponent when they host Adams Central Tuesday.
