Eli Tigulis continued his strong start to the season with another great passing display to open up the running game as the Heritage Patriots progressed through their ACAC opener at Woodlan and rolled to a 28-6 win.
The victory felt much different for the Patriots than their road win the week before when they played nearly two hours away and waited on several lightning delays. This win, against a team from their own school district, felt much better to coach Jeremy Hullinger.

Woodlan was hampered all night long by the disparity on the lines, with the Patriots racking up an astonishing 10 tackles for loss, with Grayson Mullins, Alden Bowers and Charlie Riddle each finishing with two TFLs.
The Patriots wrapped up 487 yards of offense and would have felt much better about themselves had it not been for two turnovers (both fumbles) and ten penalties.

Those mistakes cost the visitors a chance to build on their first quarter lead. Braden Walter took a short pass and ran the ball 29 yards into the end zone to give the Patriots the lead.
That score held all the way through halftime because of the turnovers and Woodlan nearly drew even when they scored on a long touchdown to start the second half, but the two-point conversion failed and the Warriors never sniffed the end zone again.

Tigulis hit his tallest target, Zeke Litchfield, for another touchdown and Nasir Martin did the rest with two scoring runs – one at the end of the third quarter and another in the fourth from 15 yards away.
Martin ended the game with a whopping total of 158 yards rushing on 19 carries. Lucas Weber picked up 46 yards on seven carries.

Tigulis finished with 276 yards in the air, 128 of those on seven completions to Litchfield.
Braden Walter had four catches for 64 yards and Weber had four, as well, for 55 yards.
