Ella Hockemeyer played her best round of the year on the Majorki Nine at Cross Creek, carding six pars to shoot a +3 round of 36 as the Bellmont Braves defeated Adams Central by 14 strokes, 180-194.
Hockemeyer limited her mistakes to just three bogeys, but head coach Mike Macke says her entire round can be summed up by one shot.
“Ella hit her very first shot off the tee on No. 1 into the pond,” the coach pointed out. “She could have let that shot ruin her round. Instead, she hit a great shot, saved the hole for bogey and never looked back.”

Hockemeyer’s previous best on the Majorki was a 39.
Londyn Smith had the best round for the Jets, playing bogey golf for a 42, representing her best round of the season.
Coach Macke noted that several girls had big bouncebacks from a poor performance at Saturday’s Bi-County event. Ava Billman and Kinley Martin each fired 49s.
Morgan Huss equaled her best round on the short, nine-hole course with a 46.
Lilly Johnson and Tenley Hendricks also had solid rounds for AC in the loss with season-best scores.
