The shorthanded South Adams Starfires may have had just the minimum of five runners Saturday, but they still finished ahead of four other teams in the large Treaty City Cross Country Invitational, which featured 17 schools.
Adalynn Watson cut 44 seconds from her time a week ago to take 15th place to pace the team.
Kalle Trausch and Stella McIntire also made major gains compared to their opening 5K times.
Fort Loramie finished in first place in the event, which was dominated by Ohio teams, with 77 points.
The Starfires were 13th with 363 points.
