Despite a hot week and a string of three-putts, the South Adams Starfires claimed victory Thursday night at Arbor Trace over the Eastbrook Panthers by a comfortable 26 strokes.
“It was a very hot day,” noted head coach Chris Toledo. “The girls struggled with their irons today.”
Toledo noted that the team’s practice and match schedule had been interrupted this week with cancelations and heat warnings.
“I believe a lot of it had to do with taking two days off,” said the coach.

Julia Arnold claimed medalist honors with a solid round of 46.
“Julia is having a good season, but still dealing with penalty strokes. That’s the only thing holding her back from a great season,” admitted Toledo.

The coach commended the rest of the team, including debutante Margo Bernard, for their scores, but said putting is still an area for improvement.

“Those three putts drive a coach crazy,” said Toledo.
