Rita A. Affolder, 55, of Berne, Indiana, passed away at 6:35AM on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. She was born on Thursday, December 26, 1968, in Decatur, Indiana. Rita attended South Adams High School. She formerly worked at UTA in Berne. Rita enjoyed playing Spyro and Crash Bandicoot on the PlayStation. She loved making different things out of perler beads. Rita had fun riding on the golf cart and just being outside. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandson, Oliver, and her family and friends.
Rita will be forever missed by her daughter, Taya (Adam) Riley of Madison, IN, grandchildren, Oliver and Oakley Riley, brothers, Bill Affolder of Geneva, IN, Fred (Sandy) Affolder of Geneva, IN, and sister, Linda (Allan) Bailey of Berne, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry E. Affolder, mother, Nancy L. (Derrickson) Hofstetter, and brother, Bob “Shorty” Affolder.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home located at 100 N. Washington St. Geneva, IN 46740, on August 16, 2024 from 4pm-7pm for viewing. There will be no formal funeral service held.
Memorial donations to honor Rita’s life can be made directly to Glancy Funeral Homes to help the family during this difficult time.
