The Adams County Commissioners and other county officials are moving forward on digitizing county records before they get lost or destroyed. The process will be a lengthy one because it includes records that date back to the early 1800’s when Indiana first became a state.
County Clerk Shelly Britt is overseeing the project, and spoke about it with WZBD’s Ed Thurman…
Most of the funding to digitize the county records will come from federal American Relief Plan money.
Meanwhile, the County Commissioners are finalizing plans to sell excess personal property and other items from the old Golden Meadows Retirement Home which closed earlier this year. A public auction to sell off the items to the public is set for Saturday, September 14 at Golden Meadows. A complete list of the items to go on sale will be released soon by the auctioneer.
