Update regarding the highway department’s truck transmission

After the July Adams County Council meeting, it was reported that the highway department was facing issues in acquiring a transmission for the contract work on a new single-axle dump truck for $125,000.

The report made it seem as though the transmission itself was to be sold to the county for that amount, but after inquiring with Highway Superintendent Brad Yoder, it was clarified that the total amount goes towards the complete work for installing everything on the truck down to the chassis, including the transmission, vehicle cab, and bed.
This work will likely be done by Selking International Trucks, as they hold the lowest bid for meeting all qualifications at the $125,000 amount. More updates on the matter will follow after the August county council meeting.
