Making their first long road trip of the season, the South Adams Starfires got the chance to play in the beautiful setting of the Bridgewater Golf Club for their first nine-hole match of the season. Their opponent was the formidable NE8 power of the DeKalb Barons and the home team used their knowledge of the home course to cruise to a victory against the young Starfires by a wide margin.
“It’s a beautiful course,” head coach Chris Toledo told WZBD on the way home from the match, “with fairways protected by water and by bunkers. We just could not stay out of them or navigate our way out when we did get in the sand.”

Leading the way for the Starfires was Brooklyn Green with a round of 50.

The team will be back in action Monday in the familiar setting of Wabash Valley in Ceylon against ACAC foe Woodlan.
