The City of Decatur has received quotes and bids for equipment and for a street project.
Operations Manager Jeremy Gilbert told the city’s board of works and safety at its recent meeting that the chassis for a new dump truck arrived early and is now in storage, awaiting a bed, hydraulics and the like.
Three quotes were received for the equipment and once one is accepted, the figure will be placed in the city’s 2025 budget.
The quotes were as follows: Monroe Truck Equipment, $92,969; WA Jones Truck Body & Equipment, $89,610; and the Godwin Group, $94,736.
The board had Gilbert take the quotes under advisement to look them over, then make a recommendation to city council as to which one should be accepted.
Gilbert also took under advisement two bids to do some edge line and center line markings on several city streets, markings which have worn over the years.
Air Marking Co. bid $59,561.20 while Three Rivers Barricade bid $63,911.30.
