
Adams County is joining a statewide effort to greatly improve coverage of broadband internet service. Mainstream Fiber, based in Brown County, is spearheading an effort to receive federal grant money to expand internet service to the under-served areas of the Hoosier State, including much of Adams County.

Adams County Economic Development officials say a lack of broadband internet service is one of the biggest deterrents to economic growth in Adams County. Applications for the grant money being sought for the federal funds are due in late September.
