Decatur’s 2024 Summer Concert Series shifts to a different venue this week, moving a short distance from the Madison St. Plaza to Riverside Center.
With the Fourth of July falling on a Thursday this year, the Decatur Chamber of Commerce will move its weekly concert to the Riverside parking lot, combining it with the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration.
The music will be provided by Crush, which labels itself a Bon Jovi Concert Experience.
The night’s festivities are due to begin at 6 p.m. at Riverside, according to the Chamber schedule, with Crush performing from 6-9 p.m.
Following the music, the Color Guard of Adams Post 43 of the American Legion will honor fallen veterans with a ceremony at dusk (sunset is 9:15).
The fireworks will begin around 10 in Riverside Park, across Jackson St. from Riverside Center.
Food vendors will be on hand and adult beverages will be provided by The Oasis Pub (The Rage).
CRUSHED: Crush has been bringing audiences the music of Bon Jovi for a little over a decade.

Hits like “Living on a Prayer”, “It’s My Life”, “You Give Love a Bad Name”, and “Wanted Dead or Alive” are part of the performance.
Crush is led by front man and lead singer Doug Shepard, who strongly resembles Jon Bon Jovi. On lead guitar, Andrew (Drew) Goodpaster plays all of the signature Richie Sambora riffs.
Billboard ranked Bon Jovi as the 45th Greatest Artist of all time, achieving 6 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 & 4 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
