The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) is pleased to announce that the fourth grade classes at Adams Central Elementary recently took a field trip to the historic Gene Stratton Porter Cabin in Geneva.  While visiting the Historic Site, students explored where Stratton Porter’s personal collections, including her library, photography, and writings, are preserved. The Adams Central 4th grade students also explored the Loblolly where Gene Stratton Porter observed and studied nature.
Mrs. Jamie Miller, Adams Central Elementary 4th grade teacher, expressed appreciation to the ACCF and Blair and Deb Brown for their generous support. Miller noted that it is so nice to go to a historical site right in our own backyard and learn about a famous person.Â
Deb Brown, retired teacher, reports she was happy to know she had a part in making this trip happen for these students.Â
This ACCF grant was made possible through the Blair & Deborah Brown Educational Mini Grant Fund, the Rick Stucky Memorial Community Enrichment Fund and the Donald Wood Family Community Enrichment Fund.
