James Edward Teeple, 95, formerly of Monroe, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, in Loveland, Colorado, at his daughter’s residence. He was born in Decatur, Indiana, on November 7, 1928, to the late Fred and Iva (Barrone, Hunter) Teeple. He married Clara Lou Schug on November 25, 1948.
Jim was a devout Christian and charter member of Grace Fellowship Church. He was involved in many ministries including Woodcrest Chapel. He was a school board member at Adams Central School and president for several years. He owned and operated “Jims Market” in Hagerstown, Indiana and was a butcher by trade. Jim managed the Standard and A&P grocery in Decatur, before working at Zollner Pistons in Ft. Wayne, as quality control.
He is survived by four daughters and one son; Anita (Richard) Schultz of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Linda (Richard) Liechty of Monroe, Indiana, Becky (Gary) Hirschy of Monroe, Indiana, Darla (Neal) Adler of Loveland, Colorado, and James (Christina) Teeple of Monroe, Indiana; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Clara and an infant son, David; his brother, Maurice Teeple; three step brothers, Jack, Jim, and Bill Hunter.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12th at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12th also at the funeral home, with Pastor Daniel York officiating. Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery, Monroe, Indiana.
