Sharon Jane Parks, 78, of Decatur, IN, passed away on May 11, 2024 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, IN. She was born in Martinsville, IN on March 8, 1946, to Max H. and Alberta M. (Cherry) Leonard.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She graduated from Martinsville High School. Jane was an excellent secretary and worked for many different companies over the years. She also was a girls’ basketball coach for Covington High School. She was a social butterfly back in her day and didn’t know a stranger throughout her life. But in her eyes her greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Holly (Tony) Baker of Decatur, IN; a son, Scott (Keri) Parks of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren: Karisa Baker and Logan (Haley) Baker of Decatur, IN; Nevin (Cristy) Baker of Richmond Hill, GA, Allie and Zach Parks of Valparaiso, IN; great-grandchildren: Nevin, Tori, Jaxson, and Maverick Baker; 2 sisters-in-law, Becky Leonard and Rebecca Leonard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Alberta Leonard, brothers Jack and Dan Leonard and grandson, Jordan Baker.
The family is so thankful for the wonderful care given to their Mom/Grandma at Golden Meadows for 17 years and most recently in the last year at Adams Heritage.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church at a later date and an inurnment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, also at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
