Ronald G. McZegle, 70, of Liberty Center, IN, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on July 21, 1953, the son of George McZegle and Bertha (Schotts) Kruse. On November 27, 1985, he married Michelle D. Wallace.
He was a 1971 graduate of Enid High School. He was then drafted into service in the U.S. Army and began his 21-year military career as a wheel and tread mechanic. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Ron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Michelle McZegle of Liberty Center; 4 children, Joe McZegle of Bluffton, Randy McZegle of Washington, Rick (Natalie) McZegle of Ft. Wayne, and Rhonda (Steven) Fisher of Huntington; a brother, Darrell Kruse of Fairmont, OK; a sister, Karen (Murray) Wazny of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death on by his mother and stepfather, Bertha and Vernon Kruse; father, George McZegle; a brother, Wayne McZegle; 2 sisters, Barbara Walter and Mary Ann Robertson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Haggard – Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Haggard – Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation a half hour prior from 1:00 – 1:30 pm. Pastor Chad Yoder will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Tricker Cemetery, with military graveside rites rendered by the American Legion Adams Post 43 Color Guard.
