Bellmont recorded four 42s from their top four golfer to submit a team score of 168 at Timber Ridge Thursday, but that was only good enough for a split of the three-way match as Jay County shot 164, thanks, in part, to a medalist score of 38 from No. 1 Caleb Derome.
Derome registered seven pars on his scorecard to beat out teammate Gage Sims for top honors.
Bluffton finished third in the meet with a 189.
The Braves struggled on an away course and had just one birdie, a two on the Par 3 18th hole for Ben Binegar.

Bluffton and Bellmont will compete in Saturday’s Bi-County event at Wabash Valley before the Braves put on a different hat and prepare for the Junior/Senior Prom that evening.
