The Adams County Republican Party will host its annual Lincoln Day Gala event on Wednesday, April 3rd at the Mirage Banquet Center in Decatur, Indiana. The event, which is set to start at 5 p.m., is set to bring together over 300 individuals from both Adams County and throughout Indiana for a night to support the party for the upcoming elections this November.
“A lot of preparation has taken place for this special rally,” stated Steve Justus, Adams County Republican Chairman and the Outreach Director for Congressman Jim Banks, “we do our best to make it unique, inspirational and motivational.”
Those in attendance can expect to be treated to a reception, as well as a dinner at 6pm. The night will also provide attendees the opportunity to meet elected officials, running candidates and other prominent members of Indiana’s Republican Party. This includes a VIP section for prominent attendees and guests alike.
The Lincoln Gala event will host a select number of guest speakers for the night. With Micah Beckwith—who is currently running for Lt. Governor—acting as master of ceremonies. Guest speakers will include several prominent members of state-level Republican politics, as well as a keynote presentation from Whitney Yates, who is a correspondent for Newsmax as well as the Director of Diversity and Engagement for the the Indiana Republican Party.
VIP attendees will get a chance to hear from Pat Miller of Fort Wayne’s 1190 WOWO Radio Station, as well as Lt. Col. She just recently published a book, “People Don’t Quit Their Jobs; They Quit Their Bosses”, which provides practical leadership to help create a workplace that not only survives but thrives.
“I’d like to give a big shout out to the executive team, which includes Adams County Republican Vice Chair Judi Merkel, Treasurer Darrel Ehlerding and Secretary Sarah Beth Anderson, who have all spent many hours in preparation in making sure Wednesday goes well,” added Justus.
The gala will bring in several state officials and state-level GOP members that will make an appearance. This includes Indiana Republican Party Secretary Mary Martin, who has played a role in several state Republican races. Statewide officials include Indiana State Treasurer Daniel Elliott, Indiana State Comptroller Elise Nieshalla, along with Former Attorney General Curtis Hill, who is running for Governor. Congressional candidates that will attend and be recognized include Grant Bucher, Wendy Davis, Tim Smith and Marlin Stutzman.
“April 3rd promises to be a special night of good people, good food, and thoughtful insight on Republican politics and a chance to meet an array of dignitaries ranging from county officials and local candidates, as well as state officials and those running for congress.”
Amongst the discussion and ceremonies, Justus notes, will be the celebration that the Adams County Republican Party filled its entire ballot for 2024 whereas there were no Democratic candidates filed to run for office in the 2024 Primary Election.
Justus concludes on that point, saying, “That says a lot about the Republican Party of Adams County that men and women are willing to file for office and not have to be appointed by the chair of its party. We are blessed with many gifted Republicans who have filed and are running to make our community a great place to live.”
