The Adams County Commissioners are considering a new plan for bridge maintenance that, if successful, could extend the life of bridges and save money for the county in the long run.
Adams County Engineer Nate Rumschlag told WZBD’s Ed Thurman that the plan involves a simple idea to use special sealant and preventative measures…
Rumschlag says he and the Commissioners want to study the proposal further before deciding on it. He says that all of them are encouraged with the possibilities that exist with the plan.
Meanwhile, the county highway department will soon begin selling permits for dust control pads for 2024. The dust pads to cut down on dust for homes along gravel roads will cost $3 per foot this year, which is a minimal increase over last year. The dust pad permits will go on sale at the Adams County Highway Department from April 1 through May 23.
