Nearly a week after a train derailed at a crossing in a busy area of Decatur, a crew was working to make repairs to a portion of the track.
With a tanker on its side nearby, three men were working Friday on the track just north of the crossing on W. Monroe St., near the West End restaurant and the ARCO gas station/convenience store.
Three Chicago Fort Wayne & Eastern Railroad (CF&E) tanker cars derailed around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Crews worked through most of the day Sunday to get the three derailed cars removed, reopening the busy Monroe St./US 224 throughfare, a major truck route.
The tanker cars were empty and so there was no spillage, and no injuries, according to Decatur police.
