Marjorie Joan Simon, 89, of rural Berne, IN, passed away at 5:40 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Marjorie was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1935, to Joel & Cora (Winteregg) Neuenschwander of Berne. Marjorie was a 1955 graduate of Geneva High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of 4H. Marjorie married William “Bill” Simon on July 29, 1955 at the Mennonite Church in Berne. Marjorie worked at her family’s business, The Berne Locker Storage along with her Father, Brothers, and Nephews,
Surviving are her children-Debbie (Late Tim) Arnold of rural Berne, Alan (Kathy) Simon of Celina, OH, 3 grandsons – Michael (Deborah) Arnold of Linn Grove, Jeff (Laura) Simon of Celina, OH, Robert (Courtney) Simon of rural Geneva, 12 great grandchildren- Hannah, Courtney, Cassidy, Bryce, and Brittney Arnold, Bentley, Lincoln, Aubrey, Brayden, Reigan, Carter, Johnny Simon and adopted grandson, Jon Adair.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, 3 brothers- Sherman, Delmar, and LeDale Neuenschwander, 5 sisters- Vergene Yake, Flo Dynes, Romona Schwartz, Elly Schindler, and Willie Luginbill.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at the West Missionary Church in Berne, IN. located at 4295 W. SR 218 Berne on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A service to celebrate her life will follow at the West Missionary Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Keith Rupp officiating. Interment will follow in the M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne.
