Adams County Chief Deputy Sheriff Eric Beer was the featured speaker at a recent meeting of the Union Township Lions Club.
He shared with the club information about the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.
A Lions club release said Beer said the county is planning for an influx of possibly over 20,000 people to watch the eclipse in the local area, and he talked about issues that may happen with the additional people in the county.
He distributed information and dark tinted glasses which allow safe observation of the solar eclipse, and also talked about possible tax scams involving someone claiming to be from the IRS who might contact them via text or email.
