
David E. Lengerich, 76, of Geneva, IN, passed away with his family by his side at 5:15 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at his residence in Geneva, IN. He was born on Sunday, April 6, 1947, in Decatur, IN. He married Deborah K. (McCullough) Lengerich on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the St. George’s Episcopal Church, Berne, IN. David was a 1966 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. He was a member of the St. George’s Episcopal Church, Berne, IN. David owned Davan in Berne and had also owned the Shell station in Berne. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 468 where he was a Past Commander and a lifetime member of the Geneva VFW. David loved going on family vacations and also enjoyed going on trips with friends. He enjoyed playing cards and watching Nascar races.
He will be forever missed by his Wife – Deborah K. (McCullough) Lengerich, Geneva, IN, Daughters – Tricia (Tim) Twitty, Linn Grove, IN, Carmen “Camie” (Scott) McDaniel, Berne, IN, Tari J. “TJ” Lengerich, Decatur, IN, Grandchildren – Nathan Twitty, Mitchell, IN, Brock Twitty, Berne, IN, Megan Armstrong, Portland, IN, Greysen Reed, Decatur, IN, 9 Great Grandchildren, Sister – Linda Fuhrman, Decatur, IN, andSister – Carol Ann (David) Bierschwale, Billings, MT.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Elmo Julius Lengerich, Mother – Geneva I. (Smith) Lengerich, 1st Wife – Patricia A. (Augsburger) Lengerich, Grandchild – Nykolas Lengerich, and Sister – Mary Lou Gaerte.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home located at 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 with Pastor John McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in the M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne. Military rites will be conducted by the US Army and the Geneva VFW.
