Two Berne entities have been awarded child-care grants.
Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb recently announced that the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL) is awarding another $6.9 million in child-care grants to an additional 22 businesses, community groups and school corporations.
Among the second-round awardees are FCC (Adams), LLC, which will receive $200,000, and Swiss Village Inc., which will get $100,000.
This latest round of grants brings the total invested to $25 million.
The initiative is part of the 2024 Next Level Agenda and is designed to help employers and communities to create or expand childcare offerings that address the needs of workers, a news release said.
“By having more child care options, Hoosiers are provided the flexibility to enter and stay in the workforce and attain a better quality of life for their families,” Gov. Holcomb said in the news release. “The State is pleased to partner with businesses to provide more opportunities for their workforce, leading to a sustainable future for Indiana families.”
