Decatur’s community buzzed with anticipation as the opening of Adams Memorial Hospital’s 13th Street Medical Office Building approached.
The vibrant new facility, located at 1401 N 13th Street, promised not only a modernized space but also a beacon of comprehensive healthcare services for the entire region.
With an impressive lineup – including the new retail Adams Community Pharmacy, StatCare, Adams Memorial Hospital’s Urgent Care Clinic, and Adams Behavioral Health – expectations ran high for this transformative addition to Decatur’s healthcare landscape.
On a crisp Wednesday afternoon, filled with optimism, approximately 100 community members and leaders gathered eagerly for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
The excitement was palpable as guests mingled, exchanging smiles and sharing their hopes for the new medical hub.
Amidst a backdrop of applause and cheerful chatter, the ribbon was ceremoniously cut, symbolizing the dawn of a new era in healthcare accessibility for Decatur and its surrounding communities.
As the doors swung open, revealing the meticulously remodeled interior, the guests were excited about the renovation on the north side of Decatur.
The spacious layout of the building was designed to foster a sense of warmth and comfort, with modern furnishings and state-of-the-art equipment standing as testaments to Adams Memorial Hospital’s commitment to excellence.
Eager to explore the offerings of the new facility, attendees made their way through the corridors, guided by friendly staff eager to showcase the array of services available.
The Adams Community Pharmacy, a welcoming space, promised convenience and personalized care to its patrons. Meanwhile, StatCare’s extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, and holiday availability from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., sparked admiration for its dedication to accessible urgent care services.
StatCare will officially open in mid February, but the extended hours are already in place at StatCare’s current location at the Adams Memorial Hospital.
Excitement peaked as visitors stepped into the Urgent Care Clinic, a hub of activity where compassionate healthcare professionals stood ready to provide prompt medical attention. The clinic’s seamless integration with the broader healthcare network of Adams Memorial Hospital instilled confidence in the community, assuring them of comprehensive care during their times of need.
As guests entered the Adams Behavioral Health wing, the space and compassionate staff offered a beacon of hope for those seeking support for mental health challenges. The announcement that Behavioral Health services would commence on Monday, February 5, drew nods of approval, underscoring the urgency and significance of mental health support in today’s society.
As the afternoon unfolded, it became evident that the 13th Street Medical Office Building wasn’t merely a structure of brick and mortar but a symbol of Adams Memorial Hospital’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of the community.

The hospital also noted that Corporate Medical Services, the hospital’s occupational health clinic, will permanently remain at Adams Memorial Hospital location adjacent to the Adams Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.”
