Adams Central Elementary 2nd graders got to go on a Nutcracker Ballet and Gingerbread Festival field trip this month thanks to a grant from the Adams County Community Foundation.
Before attending the Nutcracker Ballet and the Gingerbread Festival, the students learned about composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky and the various pieces of music through movement, listening, and rhythmic activities. They learned about many terms used in ballet and what the stage will look like with sets, characters, dancers, etc.
For the field trip, students dressed in their Christmas best with their personally created Nutcracker nametags. They listened to the Nutcracker music on the bus.
