Dennis L. Grover, 73 of Jackson Township, Wells County, passed away on Friday evening, December 1, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Dennis was born on January 2, 1950, in Bluffton, Indiana to Cloyd & Marjorie (Dennis) Grover. He graduated from Southern Wells High School in 1968, and continued his education, earning a degree in Architectural Technology from Purdue University – Fort Wayne.
Dennis honorably served in the United States Air National Guard, serving in the 163rd Weather Flight Division, at the Fort Wayne Indiana Air National Guard base, from 1971 to 1978, and was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was the owner & operator of Grover Construction for 25 years and retired as a licensed plumber with the Fort Wayne Local #166 Plumber and Steamfitters Union, where he worked for over 10 years. Dennis enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop or being outside in nature. Dennis was also an avid reader.
Dennis and Rebecca J. (Woodword) were married on April 28, 1973, at the Markle Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rebecca J. Grover of Jackson Township, Wells County, his daughter, Lora (Jacob) Warner of Markle and his mother, Marjorie Grover of Liberty Center. Dennis was affectionately known as Nanu by his 3 grandchildren: Jase, Landen and Karlee Warner, all of rural Markle.
He is also survived by his sister; Cathy (Phillip) Best of Dayton, OH., and brothers; Darrel (Kathy) Grover of Liberty Center and Douglas (Lona) Grover of Huntertown, In. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Cloyd Grover.
Visitation will be held from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Thursday, (Dec. 7, 2023) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton, and for one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Friday, (Dec. 8, 2023) at the funeral home with Pastor Brandon Kelley and Pastor Gerald Moreland officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.
Memorials may be made in Dennis’s memory to the American Cancer Association and should be directed to the funeral home.
