Coach Kyle Roe and the Adams Central Jets scored their second victory in three games with a win in their ACAC opener over Southern Wells Saturday, 59-48.
Leading the way for the Jets was Grace Fisher with 14 points. The senior went to the line seven times in the second half and hit six of her free throws to secure the lead.
The Raiders came out firing, taking a 15-7 lead after the first quarter thanks to a wild shooting performance by Gracie Reeves, who knocked down three threes and scored 11 points in total in the opening eight minutes.
Adams Central clawed back into the game with a 17-point second quarter. Ava Stafford and Ashlyn Doster each made three shots to put the Jets back in the game.
Southern Wells did their best to come back after Adams Central took a 38-37 lead at the end of the third, but the Jets made the free throws they need and when they counted to hold on for the conference win.
Alexa Brotherton had ten points and Athena Schwartz added eleven for the Jets.
