The boys swim season got underway for Norwell Tuesday night as they hosted conference rival Columbia City in home waters.
Notes & Times
-The medley relay team of Ethan Williamson, Kale Meredith, Colten Strunk and Rylan Heyerly picked up right where the Knights left off last year, narrowly edging out Columbia City to take first place.
-While last year’s sectional champ (Michael Reidenbach) may have graduated, the Knights showed some serious freshman talent with Rylan Heyerly and Gage Reinhard finishing second and third in the 50 with times of 25.36 and 26.38, respectively.
-Heyerly won the 100 by a wide margin with a season-opening time of 55.23.
-Gage Reinhard won the backstroke by less than a second in his first race.
