The South Adams Starfires got off to a better start offensively Tuesday night when they played their first game in the Stardome against Winchester, but the team showed little ability to stop a talented Falcons offense in a 66-50 non-conference loss.
Senior Macy Pries had a much better scoring night, but much of it came from the free throw line as she was fouled continually throughout the night. Pries was 9 of 12 from the line and finished with 17 points.
The Starfires did not make a three-point attempt in the loss, going 0 for 14.
Junior Addie Baker had another good night Tuesday after leading the team in scoring in her first game as a Starfire. Baker had 11 points total and was 5 of 9 from the charity stripe.
South Adams also got 12 points from senior Liz Gerber.
Just 13 turnovers committed by the Stars was a vast improvement from the opener, but South Adams will have to work on their defensive scheme ahead Saturday’s home game against Blackford, who just scored 61 in a 32-point win over Wayne Tuesday night.
