A fourth section of the Meadows of Cross Creek has become a part of the city of Decatur.
City council gave final approval to the annexation at its recent meeting.
The area annexed covers 24.4 acres of land at the northwest end of the subdivision, stretching to near the Barrington Woods housing addition (see photo).
“It’s great to have that area into the city now,” Mayor Dan Rickord noted.

At its previous meeting, council had approved the annexation on two of a required three readings, following a public hearing in which no objections to the annexation were aired.
The city has now annexed nearly 49 acres of land this year, having earlier taken in 24.219 acres of the Lake Shores subdivision on the east side of the city.
Both annexations were requested by the land owners.
