Superb goalkeeping by Gracie Rinkenberger and a hat trick by Makenzie Fuess put the Norwell Knights over the once-beaten Heritage Patriots Wednesday night.
The Knights shut down Heritage star Nin Way, who was limited to just one PK goal after the result was already decided. Way had entered the game with 26 goals in the team’s first 11 matches.
Grace Mann had the first goal for Norwell just before halftime, then she teamed up with Fuess for a goal off the opening kick and the Knights were on their way.
Fuess scored twice more in the second half and Norwell got another goal by Mann to cap the scoring.
Assists were also awarded to Morgan Batdorff and Issie Isch.
Heritage dropped to 10-2 on the season, but remained unbeaten in the ACAC.
