Officials of the Adams County Historical Society have labeled their recent first annual antique car show “a huge success.”
Held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the society’s Dugan Mansion on Monroe St. in Decatur, the show attracted 10 antique cars and what historical society officials said was “a very nice crowd.”
In addition to observing the vehicles and touring the first floor of the mansion, many people paid a fee to take a ride in the society’s 1926 Model T Car.

The first floor of the mansion featured special military exhibits from several different wars: Civil War, WWI, WWII and Korean War.
Kaki Baker and her 1928 Model A Ford (photo) won the event’s Best of Show award, while Mac and Donna Miesse (photo) had the People’s Choice recipient, a 1928 Model A Tudor.

Verl and Marilyn Sheets were honored for having traveled the longest distance to display their vehicle, a 1935 Ford truck.
