Adams Health Network CEO Dr. Scott Smith was honored this week with a special award.
He received the Outstanding Critical Access Leadership Award from the Indiana Rural Health Association in a presentation at Adams Memorial Hospital. The association has 36 critical access hospitals in Indiana.
Smith was named Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Adams Health Network (AHN) in January of 2020.
He had been medical director of hospital’s Emergency Department for 15 years after joining the hospital in 2000.
A native of Angola, Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Houston and earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. He returned to Northeast Indiana for his residency in the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program, and is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
