It has been a busy week of soccer action around Z-Land, with all five teams in action on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Here is a rundown and recap for all the teams:
Heritage Boys Soccer
The Patriots are now 3-2-1 after winning at Lakewood Park Christian 3-1. Twa Rit scored twice and Christian Ramos Morales added a score, as well as an assist. The Patriots also got assists from Jacob Reece and Alex Martinez.
Senior goalkeeper Toby Henning had just two saves to make in the victory.
The boys will play North Side at home Thursday and host Woodlan Tuesday.

Heritage Girls Soccer
Heritage continued their excellent start to the season with a good win over Wayne on Wednesday night, getting goals from the usual suspects-Nin Way and Ava Smith. Haley Zent added an assist in the win.
Way now has 16 goals this season, putting her in the Top 10 in Indiana

The girls are hoping to move to 7-1 on the season with a win over FW North Side Thursday night.
Bellmont Girls Soccer
Bellmont moved to 2-0 in the NE8 with a 4-0 whooping of Huntington North Wednesday night. Carly Gilbert scored goals #5 and #6 this season for the Braves and added an assist. Anna Ruble and Lilly Alberding also had goals. The Braves are gaining momentum after recovering from several injuries earlier in the year when the Braves’ schedule was at its toughest. Both Ruble and Arabelle Laurent, who were among the early list of injuries, added assists.

The Braves are off Thursday but will play a rare Saturday night match when they play at Canterbury at 6:30 p.m.

Bellmont Boys Soccer
Bellmont did not have trouble scoring in their three-game stretch last week, but Tuesday’s NE8 fixture ended in a 1-0 loss at the hands of the Huntington North Vikings. The second-half goal was the difference as both teams had just three shots on goal. Parker Frietas got the start in goal for the Braves.

The team takes on Blackhawk Thursday and hosts Eastbrook at 12:30 Saturday.

South Adams Girls Soccer

The Starfires claimed their second win of the year with a seven-goal explosion at New Haven Tuesday. No stats were provided for this contest.
