A showdown between the top two singles players from Adams Central and South Adams went the way of Ean Brown of the Jets and his team went on to a 4-1 victory in the rivalry match at Adams Central Tuesday.

Brown’s victory over Hyman left little chance of a victory for the visiting Starfires, who were likely counting on a win at the No. 1 spot.
“This is a tenacious team,” noted AC head coach Brent Doster. “Ean surprised me. Even though they are young and inexperienced, this team really plays well.”
One spot where Brown excelled in his match was with the serve.
“I really feel like his service game has improved from last year,” said Doster of Brown. “Another key has been the drastic improvement on his forehand ground strokes.”
The Jets face a tough test when they travel to Carroll Thursday night. They will compete at Concord in another invitational Saturday. When that stretch is complete, there will be just two weeks left in the regular season before the sectional begins.
