There was not a stretch of asphalt to be found in the Heritage High School parking lot Friday night as two East Allen rivals met on a pristine night for pigskin, but halfway through the ACAC contest the mood at halftime was tense to say the least.

Then Kobe Meyer did what he seemingly always does.
Meyer’s 75-yard rumble was the defining moment in an eventual 26-0 victory for the host Patriots in a battle of two teams with big conference aspirations.
“It doesn’t stop,” said coach Casey Kolkman after his team’s deserved win. “We have another big one next Friday for sure!”

The halftime lead came courtesy of another passing touchdown by Meyer, this time for 44 yards to Zeke Litchfield and the QB added the extra point.
Woodlan looked threatening but Meyer took control of the game with 75 of his 197 rushing yards on the long touchdown. A designed QB keeper, Meyer initially went left and then cut back across the Heritage logo at midfield before outrunning the entire Warrior secondary to the pylon.
On the flip side, the Heritage secondary caused the Woodlan quarterback fits.

Lucas Weber was denied an interception after a Heritage penalty negated the pick in the third quarter, but the Warriors ran what looked like the very same play and Weber improbably picked him off again, setting Heritage up at midfield, where Meyer broke off another big one, running it in from 49 yards just before the third quarter ended.

Another interception on the next Woodlan possession was the second of the game for Braden Walter. Less than two minutes after taking a 20-0 lead, Meyer hit Litchfield for the second time and he put the game away with a 23-yard touchdown catch.

Kobe finished the game 12 of 24 for 140 yards and the two passing touchdowns to Litchfield, bringing his total on the year to nine in just three games. Meyer’s 197 yards on the ground puts him just a few yards short of 500 at this point in the season.
Cjay Barnett used a big 43-yard run to finish with 83 yards on the ground.

Litchfield had five catches for 98 yards and his two scores.
Lucas Weber’s two interceptions were in addition to a great night on kickoff returns, where he tallied 214 return yards on the five kickoffs.
